SMS Consent and Messaging Disclosure

Last Updated: September 9, 2026

This page describes how eCardWidget's optional SMS (text message) delivery feature works, how consent is obtained and recorded before any message is sent, and how recipients can opt out. It is published so that recipients, senders, and mobile carriers can verify our messaging practices. Messages are sent from +1 888 280 1869 on behalf of eCardWidget senders.

eCardWidget LLC ("eCardWidget", "we", "us", "our") is a business-to-business software platform. We do not send marketing text messages of our own. Every SMS sent through the platform is a personalized eCard from an identified sender to a recipient that sender already knows.

1.What the Feature Is

eCardWidget lets organizations create branded digital greeting cards (eCards) and deliver them to employees, members, customers, and other people they have a relationship with. Delivery is normally by email. Account Holders (paying customers) may optionally deliver an individual eCard by SMS to a recipient's mobile number.

The sender is the Account Holder or a person sending on the Account Holder's behalf. eCardWidget provides the software that transmits the message; it does not originate the content, choose recipients, or send messages on its own initiative.

2.How Consent Is Obtained and Recorded

Recipient mobile numbers are entered one at a time by the sender in the eCardWidget send form, solely to deliver that eCard. Before the Send button becomes available, the sender must check a mandatory attestation box that reads:

"I confirm this recipient knows me and expects to hear from me."

  • Submission is blocked until the attestation box is checked. There is no default or pre-checked state.
  • Every attestation is logged with the sender's user ID, IP address, timestamp, and the recipient's mobile number, and is retained as evidence of consent.
  • Senders agree in our Terms of Service that each recipient has a genuine prior relationship with them and has consented to receive messages, and that no purchased, rented, scraped, or harvested numbers are used.
  • Recipient numbers are never sold, rented, or shared, are not used for eCardWidget's own marketing, and SMS consent is never shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Accounts that violate these requirements may have the SMS feature or the account suspended immediately.

3.Message Content

Every message identifies who it is from and how to stop receiving messages. Each SMS includes:

  • The sender's name
  • The eCardWidget brand, so the recipient knows which service delivered the message
  • A link to view the personalized eCard
  • Opt-out instructions ("Reply STOP to unsubscribe")

Example message (wording varies with the sender and eCard):

Maria Chen sent you an eCard via eCardWidget: https://ecardwidget.com/c/example. Reply STOP to unsubscribe, HELP for help.

4.Opting Out and Getting Help

  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. The opt-out is enforced across all eCardWidget sender accounts, so no sender on the platform can text that number again unless the recipient later opts back in.
  • Reply HELP to receive support contact information.
  • You can also contact us at [email protected] to be removed or to ask a question about a message you received.

Senders are separately responsible for honoring any opt-out request made directly to them.

5.Message Frequency and Rates

Message frequency varies by sender. A recipient typically receives a message only when someone they know sends them an eCard, for example on a birthday, work anniversary, or holiday.

Message and data rates may apply. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
